Instead, we go after the bad guys themselves and hold them accountable.\"\n\nWTF. these are two completely separate situations. you do whatever immediately stops them from hurting people, or at least adds friction. if that means letting folks at the power grid know what's going on, so be it.\n\nsay for example someone's using their pc to ram drones into people, cutting power would be a much better course of action as it's instantaneous. if you try to neutralize each drone one by one, or send someone to try to convince em to stop, drones will be ran into people before you're done. you DO what WORKS.\n\ndo you think the people at the power grid are stupid? \"hey this person called me names!! you cut power to the drone guy, now you have to do the same for me!!\" like no, what you're saying is a classic slippery slope argument. people are smarter than that.\n\nnow, in the case of internet infrastructure, we've proven that what works within our system hierarchical as is, is putting the pressure on isps to add friction where it's absolutely necessary. i sincerely doubt t
